Not a vacation. But having a blast!

December 31st, 2007 | 4 Comments | Posted in Personal

We’re getting ready to head back to Arkansas tomorrow.  We have had a great trip … very busy … but good.  When we come home to Ohio, it’s not a vacation at all … we spend the vast majority of our time here, running around seeing friends and family, with very little down time.   Here’s some of the highlights / things we’ve done since we’ve been home:

  • Been sick.  Sabrina once… me twice.
  • Had lunch with Josh, Joanna and Caden.
  • Tried some new kinds of beer.
  • Los Mariachi’s after church with 23 people that love us.
  • Sat in on a recording of Beyond The Milk.
  • Worked on a billboard design.
  • Played some Euchre.
  • Played CLUE with Joel and Kari.
  • Pork, saurkraut, dumplings, green beans and corn.
  • Took a trip to Wright-Patt AFB.  Sabrina got a camera for under $100, I got Starbucks coffee for $5.79 / lb.
  • Watching a movie with Larry and Jennifer.  A monkey getting shot out of a cannon is pretty funny.

I’ve been published.

Well sort of… at least my art work has.  You won’t find my name in it anywhere, but you will find that the vast majority of artwork is mine.  ThinkPen Design is owned by Greg, who goes to Keypoint.  Greg occasionally throws a freelance job my way.  This one was to design the page backgrounds for Mannheim Steamroller’s The Season for Joy.  It was a neat project to work on, and it’s cool to see the final product.

My family is pretty stoked about it.  I think Mannheim Steamroller’s music is for another generation … not mine.  They’ve all gone out and bought the book, and I just got to see it for the first time yesterday.

Movie list.

A list of movies that I would like to see; but haven’t.  Some are new, some are old.

  1. The Fountain
  2. National Treasure: Book of Secrets (I liked the first one… for a Disney movie)
  3. I Am Legend
  4. No Country For Old Men
  5. Rambo (I’m truly ashamed of this one)
  6. 3:10 to Yuma
  7. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
  8. Heima
  9. Charlie and The Chocolate Factory
  10. 28 Weeks Later
  11. Rescue Dawn

There’s probably more.  But not now.
