Getting better is tough.

In our kpc.production area at Keypoint Church, things are moving and shaking. We have gone through some changes… people moving away… other people being added to the team. We have gotten to the point, where it has become necessary for us to get organized and standards have to be set.

These times, although good, can be very tough. It can be tough during times of change. It can be hard on staff to allow volunteers to “work through it”. I love that we are working through these things though. It means that we are growing and getting better at what we do.

Protocols and standards are necessary. Some of the things that we are working through:

  • Filenames for audio files
  • Protocols for training volunteers
  • Standardizing our Sunday morning sound, look, and feel

Indiana Jones 4 … in my opinion.

**THIS POST MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS**

I’ve always been a fan of the Indiana Jones movies, I’ve seen them all and own the DVD box set.  When I was kid I always wanted a whip so I could pretend I was Indiana Jones.  Recently, I went and saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull at the theater.  I had heard some reviews of it, and they weren’t very good.  But I had to see for myself.

I went into it with pretty low expectations, not expecting a mind-blowing cinematic experience.  I wasn’t disappointed.  The storyline with the aliens was a little strange and far-fetched; but there was plenty of classic Indiana Jones action to make up for it.  Very little CG, from what I could tell.  Harrison Ford is getting up there in age, and I was impressed that he hasn’t lost much of his touch.

As for Shia LeBeouf [ Mutt Williams ], I thought he did pretty well stepping into a role like that.  Obviously, people are going to be criticizing him the most… as he steps into Harrison Ford’s shoes, taking on the role of what will ultimately become the new Indiana Jones.

My final say:  I give it a 4 out of 5. Classic Indiana Jones action… with a weird, alien storyline.

Cheesy PS effects and creepy guy.

Here are a couple of logos/slides that I threw together for The Mix (our student ministry).
