Not just a KISS concert for me.
Tonight, I’m going to see KISS in Little Rock. I’m not a huge KISS fan. In fact, I only know a couple of their songs. But I’m going for a couple of other reasons.
KISS has always been known for their spectacle of a show. To me, their music isn’t that great… but I’ve always heard that their shows are amazing. So, I’m looking forward to seeing their production. So, that’s the first reason.
The second reason is a little closer to the heart. My deceased brother, Rick, was a huge KISS fan. He died when I was pretty young, so I never really got to know him. I wish I would’ve had the chance. From what I know about him, he and I have a lot of similarities.
- We are both left-handed.
- We are both artists.
- We like the same style of music.
- We are both tall and skinny.
When he died, I somehow inherited his record collection. We’re talking original vinyl here. Not tapes or CDs. It was through this collection, that I kinda got to know Rick. It’s filled with Led Zepplin, Rush, and KISS. I still have his KISS “Destroyer” album, still in the plastic.
So, going to this show has a bit deeper meaning for me. It’s another way that I can sorta connect with my brother that I never got to know.
